If you’re shopping for internet in Phoenix, the most popular choices are CenturyLink, Cox, and fixed wireless internet. At least 93 percent of Phoenix has access to Cox, and at least 95 percent has access to fiber and fixed wireless internet.

Fastest Internet Providers in Phoenix

CenturyLink offers the fastest fiber internet service, with download speeds of up to 940 Mbps. If you don’t have access to CenturyLink’s fiber internet, chances are you have access to their DSL internet, which offers download speeds up to 100 Mbps.

Cox offers gigabit speeds, although the maximum upload speed is only 35 Mbps. Mediacom and Consolidated Smart Broadband Systems also offer high-speed cable internet but are available to fewer than 20,000 residents.

Fixed wireless internet is widely available and offers download speeds up to 300 Mbps from Triad Wireless and a few other providers. For more information on Triad Wireless plans and pricing, call the number listed next to them above.

Cheapest Internet in Phoenix

Cox offers the cheapest internet plan in Phoenix, which costs $29.99 per month for up to 25 Mbps. For faster plans (with speeds up to 100 Mbps or sometimes even higher), expect to pay $59.99 to $99.99 a month with Cox.

CenturyLink plans and pricing are simple and cheap. Plans with speeds up to 100 Mbps cost $50 a month. CenturyLink’s fiber gigabit plan costs $65 a month and is the cheapest gigabit plan in Phoenix.

Comparing CenturyLink and Cox

Choosing between Cox and CenturyLink ultimately comes down to data cap, price, and bundle options for most consumers. CenturyLink has lower-priced high-speed plans with unlimited data, while Cox has bundle options for those wanting TV, home phone, and/or home security and automation.

Unlimited data is almost a must for cord-cutters and heavy gamers. Each CenturyLink plan, DSL and Fiber, is free of data caps, making them a top choice if you’re looking for an internet-only plan. However, bundle seekers may prefer Cox, since CenturyLink no longer offers their own TV service. Instead, they partner with Dish, DirecTV, and AT&T TV for those who want to bundle. Keep in mind, however, that there is no discount when you bundle with CenturyLink.

Whether you bundle or not, all Cox internet plans have a 1.25 TB data cap. Fortunately, Cox bundles often offer discounts and promotions on free services and devices. Click “View Plans and Pricing” next to Cox above to see their current deals and promotions.

As a result of the pandemic, the Phoenix government expanded its free public Wi-Fi range outside of public libraries, recreation centers, and other participating facilities. Over 50 facilities continue to provide free Wi-Fi, available inside and outside their facilities. Click here for a full list of participating facilities.

CenturyLink and Cox participate in nationally funded low-income internet programs in Phoenix.
