Cox Communications Black Friday and Cyber Monday 2020 Deals

Get Black Friday Internet Service Deals for your new tech this holiday

Black Friday and Cyber Monday are almost upon us, and quite a few internet service providers (ISPs) may offer discounts on their internet plans. If you’re currently serviced by or have been considering switching to Cox Communications, this Black Friday season might be the right time to change your plan or provider to a more affordable option.

Although Cox hasn’t released the deals they will be offering just yet, we put together a comprehensive overview of why their broadband services may be a good fit for your household. Whether you’re looking for a standalone internet plan or want to bundle your internet with TV or phone services, Cox offers speeds up to 940 Mbps, monthly data caps of 1280 GB, and a variety of internet plans to choose from. We expect to see a few price cuts or customer perks from Cox on Black Friday and Cyber Monday.

Cox Communications Internet Overview

Cox is the third-largest cable provider in the U.S., providing service to approximately 20.9 million people. Their internet-only plans range in price from $29.99 to $99.99 per month, with speeds ranging between 10 to 940 Mbps. Below, we outline the standalone internet plans Cox is currently offering.

Cox Communications Plan Price Speeds Up To Data Caps
Cox Internet Starter 10 $29.99 per month 10 Mbps 1280 GB
Cox Internet Essential 50 $39.99 per month 50 Mbps 1280 GB
Cox Internet Preferred 150 $59.99 per month 150 Mbps 1280 GB
Cox Internet Ultimate 500 $79.99 per month 500 Mbps 1280 GB
Cox Internet Gigablast $99.99 per month 940 Mbps 1280 GB

Cox requires a one-year contract for its internet-only plans. If you choose to sign a contract, be sure you don’t plan on breaking it off early, as you will be expected to pay an early termination fee of $120. You will also need to rent the modem with Wi-Fi for $10.99 per month. For internet-only plans, you can expect to pay $20 for self-installation and $75 for professional installation. Self-installation is free if you opt for a Double or Triple Play bundle, but you can expect to pay $25 to $50 for professional installation and an early termination fee of $240.

How to Save Money Year Round With Cox Communications

Although Black Friday and Cyber Monday help you save money and enjoy deals that you normally wouldn’t find at any other time of the year, you still have ways to cut the costs on your internet bill. If and when Cox releases their Black Friday or Cyber Monday deals and they don’t meet your expectations, or if you miss the deadline to take part in these deals, we’ve listed several solutions on how to save money with the ISP below.

  • Bundles: If you bundle, you can self-install your internet at no extra cost instead of paying $20, or you can opt for professional installation for anywhere between $25 to $50 rather than $75. Another plus when opting for a bundle is you have TV and/or phone services added to your plan for a minimal fee.
  • Buy a Modem: If you’d rather not pay $10.99 per month to rent one of Cox’s modems, you can purchase your own instead, as long as it’s compatible with Cox’s services.
  • Cut the Cord: If you’re watching Hulu, Netflix, and other streaming services more than you watch live TV or cable, you may want to consider “cutting the cord” or canceling your cable service and just pay for streaming subscriptions.
  • Downgrade Internet Speeds: When it comes to selecting a plan, consider how much internet speeds your household actually needs. Unless you have heavy gamers and streamers in your family, you should be fine with slower speeds. Plus, the data caps on Cox’s plans are very high, so you won’t need to worry about going over the cap. If you do find yourself going over the limit, you’ll need to pay an additional $10 for every 50 GB. To avoid data overage fees, you can always upgrade to unlimited data.
  • COVID-19 Payment Plans: Now through June 30, 2021, Cox is offering payment relief plans during the pandemic for customers who qualify.

If you want to lower the costs of your internet bill, keep an eye out for the official announcement from Cox on their Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals. Disappointed in the deals? There are always other methods to reduce your bill. Remember, calling Cox and successfully negotiating your bill is a deal in itself!
