Unreliable service
The technician is great. He's pleasant, knowledgeable, and on time for appointments. The service, when we have it, is good. With the platinum plan (which we upgraded to hoping it would help) we get speeds in the mid-teens when it is working. However, it is very unreliable. We've had the service for about 6 weeks and has worked as it should about 50% of the time. The other 50% of the time we have had speeds as low as 0.1 Mbps. When we first had a problem I had to make multiple calls in order to get someone to come out and look at it; I kept getting told that everything was fine or that the problem was the server I was trying to connect to. Finally, tech came and made adjustments and it seemed to help. However, within a week we started having the same problem. This week we had one night where it alternated between not working at all and speeds of 0.1-0.4 and another night where the fastest speed we could get was .8. Now we are waiting for a call to schedule another appointment for someone to come look at it. As I said, when it works it's good but, if you need the internet for work, it cannot be relied upon. We are still subscribing to a different provider hotspot as a backup which is not what we had hoped to do.
Remote Access Computer Service
Tech is not only the go-to guy for computer glitches but is where I now buy computers (latest is Lenovo Yoga). He's been helping me for over a decade and is totally trusted. Today, his remote access saved me for the third time in five years and, in less than five minutes, was back in business!
Very nice, friendly service!
Mykell was cheerful, helpful, patient and upbeat from the first contact. Such a pleasure to speak with her. Like a breath of fresh air. Every time I speak with her I hear the smile that must be on the other end of the line. Thank you Mykell! Our install was done by Carlos. What a fun and informative time we had. Carlos is smart and witty. He knows his stuff and is a good teacher. Neither my husband nor I are computer savvy, but Carlos helped us to understand how our system works.. in plain, understandable terminology! I think we can do this. Thank you Carlos! We look forward to a long and happy relationship with Grizzly Broadband. They all seem very customer service-orientated. Rock on GBB!!!!!!!!!
High price comes with excellent service
I usually battle my ISP, but Cybernet1 is the first one that makes me feel like a valued customer. So far, we've only had a handful of outages and slowdowns. We've been customers for something like ... 14 months? The company is really good about sending out email notifications when outages happen, and when they expect it to be resolved. They are very communicative, and I've never had that with others. They are expensive, especially for the way their tiers work. I believe that all but the lowest tiers are segmented by speed, as opposed to data. So they're unlimited, but with a lower-tier, you're getting slower service. We pay a lot for 18Mbps down, which we need. We're both in IT, and my husband works from home full-time, and I do so about once a week. The internet is extremely consistent - the only time I get less than 18 is when there is an actual issue, as an outage. Even when everyone comes home and starts watching Netflix our internet speed doesn't really slow down. Also, I don't know if I should say this, but we often get above 18, and upload speeds are great. Their customer service has been great. I never thought I'd say that about an ISP. But so far, I've been extremely pleased. And I've had another fixed wireless broadband provider that was cheaper (like half the price) but the service was nonexistent, and the internet almost unusable. So far they've been a great compromise for rural living and urban infrastructure. Also, they are definitely the best option in our location. Trust me, I've been a customer of most of those options.
