Optimum by Altice Contracts, Equipment Fees & Fine Print

Similar to Verizon, Optimum does not require annual contracts but offers a 1-year agreement with a promotional rate.
Equipment fees are not included in the monthly rate and cost $10/month for the modem, however, a free smart router is included. The most expensive option comes with a $100 Amazon gift card and one year of HBO NOW. Optimum may help pay some of your early termination fees from your previous provider. Be prepared to face early termination fees if you decide to opt out of Optimum’s contract early.
Verizon High Speed Internet Contracts, Equipment Fees & Fine Print

No annual contract is required for Verizon Fios, however, auto-pay is mandatory.
Signing a one to two-year contract may lead to lower prices but early termination fees may be applied if you opt out early. Equipment fees are not included in the monthly cost and can run anywhere from $12/month to rent to a one-time fee of $199 to purchase a modem with WiFi. If you choose to break your contract with your previous provider using Verizon’s credit of $500, you will need to stay with Verizon for longer than 90 days or you will be charged the credit.
Optimum by Altice Installation

All available devices will be set up wirelessly, and three outlets will be set up as well. Additional outlets require an additional fee of $25.
Verizon High Speed Internet Installation

The installation process and pricing differ between Verizon Fios and Verizon High Speed Internet.
For customers who have already had Fios installed, Verizon offers a free self-installation option. Those new to Fios, professional installation is suggested as an Optical Network Terminal, ethernet jack, and a Power Supply Unit will need to be installed. There is a one-time professional installation fee of $99, however, if you order online this fee will be waived. Installation takes about four to six hours and requires an adult present. The technician will need a clear path to your computer and/or TV as well as access to where your utilities enter your home. The installation process is simple with Verizon’s DSL service. You can avoid the installation fee by opting to buy and install your own equipment.

Optimum is awesome.

Great speed, great reliability and great customer service. No problems. And many people are using it in this house at the same time. It's great.
Love it!

I came here on this website to get a speed test and I wasn't surprised by the results! I have Optimum and I love it.
Great speeds

Speeds are great ever since we switched to Verizon FiOS, we pay for 200 Mbps up and down and get 330Mbps up and down, speeds are consistent and never slow down, customer service is also good. I would recommend Verizon.
Fantastic

The value that you get from the bundle that Verizon is currently offering is amazing. Obviously, this is because they are being pressured by competition from other ISPs that are moving into my area. I have a 200Mbps up/down plan and regularly exceed that by 50Mbps+. That said, I have had general connectivity issues about once a week from day one (6 yr client) which requires a modem reboot. So while the sweet interweb's feed is all underground and weather doesn't affect the link, the connection fails often mid-meeting because of a butterfly flapped wings in Europe (some high bandwidth cisco switch needed a run config upgrade). When it is on, it is good and the price is amazing too.
