Verizon High Speed Internet Installation
Verizon High Speed Internet does not require professional installation.
While professional installation is available, self-installation service with Verizon High Speed Internet is free of charge. There is an equipment rental fee of $12/month or a one-time price of $29.99 to purchase the equipment. Alternatively, customers can opt to purchase their own modem or router elsewhere as long as the devices are compatible with Verizon’s DSL standards. Certain bundles or plans offered may waive these fees.
Xfinity offers two options for installation: self-installation and professional installation.
If customers have never had Xfinity from Comcast installed before, then professional installation is required, which costs up to $90 depending on the plan or bundle purchased. If the area in which customers live is already wired for Xfinity service, then self-installation costs $15. Both options are one-time fees. The difference between the two is professional installation supplies a certified technician while self-installation provides a rental toolbox for customers to set up their Xfinity service.

Speeds are great ever since we switched to Verizon FiOS, we pay for 200 Mbps up and down and get 330Mbps up and down, speeds are consistent and never slow down, customer service is also good. I would recommend Verizon.
The value that you get from the bundle that Verizon is currently offering is amazing. Obviously, this is because they are being pressured by competition from other ISPs that are moving into my area. I have a 200Mbps up/down plan and regularly exceed that by 50Mbps+. That said, I have had general connectivity issues about once a week from day one (6 yr client) which requires a modem reboot. So while the sweet interweb's feed is all underground and weather doesn't affect the link, the connection fails often mid-meeting because of a butterfly flapped wings in Europe (some high bandwidth cisco switch needed a run config upgrade). When it is on, it is good and the price is amazing too.
First time Xfinity subscriber. Exceeded my expectations. I can honestly say I was very impressed with all aspects of Xfinity. I just purchased a home in Delray Beach FL. From the initial appointment call to complete installation, Xfinity exceeded my expectations. Very impressed with the Tech. The tech arrived early. He introduced himself and ask me about my expectations. He explained what he was going to do and would have me watching NFL football today. Walked me through the setup and all options of the remote. I ordered cable and internet. I will say the internet service is faster than others. Very impressed with Xfinity.
This was my first time using Xfinity cable services and I absolutely loved it! I never had an issue. Unfortunately, I do have to disconnect my services, due to moving to a location where Xfinity is not offered. I wanted to recognize the service rep, she was absolutely amazing. She answered all my questions on how to cancel my service. She even gave me the mover's department contact to help me find a new and awesome wifi system in my new area. I was blown away by her kindness. She wished me good luck with my move and gave me a positive outlook during all of my frustrations. She was so kind and comforting and deserves to be recognized greatly!!
