It has great coverage, with availability to 93.8 percent of the city.

Internet Availability in Anchorage, AK

Anchorage has 6 internet service providers. In the Air Crossroads of the World, residents have two major providers for wired internet: cable from GCI or DSL from Alaska Communications.

GCI boasts wide availability across the city. The provider features sweeping coverage throughout downtown Anchorage, with plenty of service south of Fort Richardson. Service doesn’t cover all surrounding areas of Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport but does provide great coverage along the shores of Chickaloon Bay as it turns into the Turnagain Arm.

For DSL internet, Alaska Communications covers a decent chunk of Anchorage. The provider doesn’t cover much space east of O’Malley Peak but does shine near the airport. While GCI lacks some coverage near Ted Stevens, Alaska Communications boasts full availability in areas surrounding the airport. Similarly, for land on either side of Turnagain Arm, Alaska Communications has better availability than GCI. GCI covers a portion of the area northwest of the body of water, but Alaska Communication features broader coverage to the east and on both sides of Turnagain Arm.
