Data caps.
on January 19, 2016
The biggest problem that I have with Buckeye is that they have data caps, after which they charge you extra. I am a power user, between my gaming and video streaming, so I end up hitting the cap with some frequency, but I cannot afford to upgrade my service to increase my cap. The speed is also not good when compared to options in other places. But Buckeye knows they are the only game in town. I can't stand Buckeye, but I have no choice.
Intermittent coverage
Sharon Haley on November 07, 2017
This internet goes in and out. If you use Alexa, you will notice it immediately and working on your computer is the same. When it runs perfectly, the speed is excellent. They recently went to a new billing system too. I do not recommend going paperless with this new system. In Sylvania, their speed is the fastest and the cost is the lowest.
Great speed, spotty reliability, awful pricing
Aaron on March 30, 2019
Buckeye has exclusive rights of way in Sylvania and some of the surrounding areas. This means they have zero broadband competition and their pricing shows it. 1Gbps service with unlimited data costs $300/mo (and only includes 10Mbps upload). A quick peek at surrounding areas that offer 1Gbps service from other providers and they are less than $100/mo for much better service, e.g. 1Gbps up and down, support for the latest BYO hardware, and better SLAs on reliability. Buckeye's download speeds are consistent. I pay for the 200Mbps service with unlimited data on top of that and I consistently get the advertised speed. The upload is a joke, 5Mbps, and if you want to double that to 10Mbps, it costs you an extra $15/mo. Reliability is questionable. I average about 6 outages per year. Some last minutes, others hours. The rat's nest of wiring at the connection point to my house is ugly as well. It's almost like they don't care. Just throw down some coax couplers, cut here, splice there, and leave a big coiled mess. If they had healthy competition, I am sure it would be different, but they don't, so it's not.

Very reliable service. Have been a customer for many, many years. 26 Mbps service is always faster than that, both up and downloads. Can support multiple WiFi streaming devices in our home simultaneously with no degradation.
Data cap and slow speeds
on February 10, 2016
The data cap is annoying, and every so often the wifi goes out and when It comes back, it is slow about 3Mbps.
