Internet Access in Catoosa, Oklahoma

Catoosa offers 11 residential Internet providers, and 19 when including business and mobile services. Consumers in the area have access to 7 broadband choices like DSL and cable.

There is a decent level of competition between companies in the Catoosa area, but 1,000 people in the area still don't have access to more than one provider. The consequence of this is that if they aren't satisfied with their provider, they have no choice but to use a poor quality wireless option. However, this isn't the norm in Catoosa — the majority of households have 5-6 Internet choices.

The plans listed above are manually collected by our research team. Our team has collected 345 plans in Catoosa since 2014.

Coverage from the most common companies, Viasat Internet and HughesNet, generally, will overlap. As you might expect, the choice between Viasat and HughesNet is common in Catoosa.

IPBB and Fiber is the main network type with coverage in Catoosa that residents should consider. The poor broadband Internet infrastructure in Catoosa results in low download speed averages in the area. Catoosa average download speeds clock in 139.23% below the Oklahoma average. Still, 18.39 Mbps will handle most modern applications including streaming Netflix. Plans that have data caps from some of the Internet providers in Catoosa create more issues when it comes to video streaming than Internet speed alone.

  • There are 17 internet providers in Catoosa with 11 of those offering residential service
  • Catoosa is the 90th most connected city in Oklahoma ahead of Broken Arrow, Owasso, and Claremore, but behind Inola and Tulsa.

Catoosa is the 90th most connected city in Oklahoma ahead of Broken Arrow, Owasso, and Claremore, but behind Inola and Tulsa.

The “Connected” metric is a citywide average based on FCC data showing the density of broadband options at the census block level.

Approximately 10,000 people in Rogers County don't have access to any wired internet.

This statistic is drawn from the population in census blocks not served by at least one wired broadband provider.

Fiber Availability: 27% of people living in Catoosa have residential fiber service available to them.

Fiber coverage data is sourced from FCC Form 477 filings and cross-validated through BroadbandNow with private datasets and direct provider reporting.

Approximately 86% of Catoosa residents are serviced by multiple wired providers.

This coverage statistic is based on a mix of FCC and private provider reporting in the past two quarters.

In Rogers County, approximately 13,000 people do not have access to 25 Mbps wired broadband.

25 Mbps download and 3 Mbps upload is the minimum speed for an Internet connection to be classified as “Broadband” by the FCC.

Data Caps Around Catoosa

Data collected by our market research team suggests that top ISPs in Catoosa currently place some sort of limit on streaming on residential Internet connections. Data caps are disliked because users see them as a strategy for limiting "cord cutting", while providers insist that they are a necessary tool as they struggle to manage network traffic. In either case, the problem is streaming services, which can eat up 1–7GB per hour.

Customer Reviews of Internet Providers in Catoosa

A local Catoosa civilian’s experience

The download and the internet are great especially out here. But the upload is just so bad compared to the download. Especially when you got WiFi for gaming. I’m going above 600 ping constantly. It’s great for watching YouTube and browsing but definitely not for gaming.
