50 down 10 up plan fixed wireless
Getting as advertised speeds. Paying $89.95 per month period, no rents or fees or any extras.
Great service and Greater customer service
UBB has the best connection speed for rural areas and provides the best customer service with courtesy and knowledge. Very simple and detailed instructions from a great support team. Especially from their top tech support rep Brad.
Acceptable
Utah Broadband does well, considering they are a wireless ISP. We pay for 20Mbps download/2Mbps upload. We usually get 18-20 download and 1.8-2.2 upload. However, we will sometimes get 10-14 Mbps download and about 1.4 upload. This seems to usually be during high use periods or sometimes in adverse weather. Wireless-provided internet is inherently inferior to wired ISP services. It relies on wireless connections, which are subject to all kinds of inferences. Utah Broadband does, however, have very good customer service and knowledgeable and friendly technicians.
Awesome company
Great customer service. Good reliable service when line of site is good to one of their nearby towers.
Acceptable, some of the time.
The first few months were okay. As more users have started to show up, UBB's tower-operated broadband has become increasingly slow, sloggy, and unstable. I have rampant packet loss problems now, making online gaming/VOIP impossible. Downloads are unstable, and will sometimes fail altogether. Occasionally I'll be streaming 720p YouTube, and the connection will suddenly choke and force me down to 144p, if the stream doesn't outright fail spectacularly and force me to reload the page. Netflix has similar issues. Their customer service is friendly, if powerless to do anything about the problems I've been having. In conclusion: Only get UBB if, like me, you have literally no other options. Neither CenturyLink nor Comcast come close to where I live with anything above 400 kbps speeds, and I'd sell my soul to the devil to get UTOPIA, no questions asked.
Sad to have to change service.
I love Utah Broadband's customer service. They are helpful, nice and easy to work with, they are very understanding. My bill has always been the same since we went with them, no surprises, no extra this or that. I hate to have to change service. I am having a real hard time with it and have delayed the process for the last several months, but I do not have a choice anymore. They cannot give me a fast enough speed because the trees are in the way of their towers. They need more towers so I can come back .
