Kinetic by Windstream Edges EarthLink Out When It Comes to Fees
Self-Install Is Optional With Both Providers
EarthLink offers self-installation for most of their internet plans. Kinetic by Windstream customers can choose between a professional installation for a one-time fee of $35 or a self-install option. Select plans may waive the installation and activation fees when you order online.
Kinetic by Windstream Doesn’t Require Annual Contracts
EarthLink requires a minimum 12-month contract for service. If the contract is canceled before its due date, you may have to pay up to $200 in early termination fees (ETFs). There are no pre-paid options, and the service is not prorated.
Kinetic by Windstream, on the other hand, has no contracts, so you won’t face an ETF at all. However, you will have to rent a modem for $9.99 per month, and Kinetic by Windstream typically charges a $60 activation fee when you start your service.
No Data Caps for Either Provider
Earthlink does not have any data caps, which means customers have access to unlimited data. Kinetic by Windstream also does not employ any data caps. So, you don’t have to worry about data overage charges with either provider.
