Wonderful staff

Jean Cubberly on July 09, 2024

I just switched back to T-Mobile and I am very happy I did. Techs are great. They helped me several times in a matter of 4 days. Very patient and knowledgeable. The staff in the Bayonne store are wonderful and kind. If I could give 100 stars I would. The service has been great. No issues at all. Thank you so much for all your help and continued support...

Reliable only with new and up to date devices

Pamela Prenovost on July 02, 2024

Ongoing connection to certain devices is a big problem including our printer and my Kindle. Connection requires rebooting the router almost daily. My iMac would never connect despite efforts from customer service. The common factor seems to be the age of the device. Our phones and newer computers pose no problem. It remains a daily challenge!

We are pleasantly surprised.

James L Findley on June 06, 2024

Granted, we are not technically inclined, but having had T-Mobile Internet for a year we have no complaints. Our previous carrier couldn't find our new service location's wiring, telling us that we would need to pay for a new line installation in our high rise apartment, even though the previous tenants had their service., and our building recommended the carrier! Annoyed, we tried T-Mobile Internet more randomly than most customers. We received our equipment and setup was easy. Initially, we were worried that our Roku device in the bedroom had a weak signal, but our device apparently learned to communicate, and reception was clear. We were worried about "throttling" when T-Mobile's system apparently prioritizes cell phone customers during heavy use. It isn't a problem. We are in the perfect location for cell towers, on a hillside overlooking our city. The directions said to put the unit near a window and we did so. Besides rare events where the signal slows for 30 seconds, our experience is very positive. There have been no loss of service at any time, which is better than our previous carrier. Our one contact with the customer service at T-Mobile was very pleasant and efficient, the customer service representative was not only knowledgeable, he had a great sense of humor when dealing with techno-dolts; us!

Great when it works

Tom H on June 02, 2024

I got my T-Mobile wireless internet just over a year ago. I got it from the T-Mobile store in town and they said it would work. I'm out in the sticks and the box has never shown more than a weak signal, but it has worked. However, in the last few weeks, it has got incredibly slow. As a matter of fact, it's so slow now I can't use it and I'm typing this review on my laptop which is tethered to my iPhone. Just for the heck of it, I went to the T-Mobile website and entered my address. Now they are saying that the wireless internet isn't even available at my address! So it looks like I have been paying $50.00 a month for something that doesn't work. If it doesn't get any better soon I may just cancel it.

Great for me.

I live in a semi-rural area with no above-ground lines. Internet was limited to ancient DSL or line-of-sight service. I was previously getting around 40-90Mbps with line of sight. With T-Mobile 5G home Internet I average about 100 and regularly GET 150-200 Mbps. On occasion, it does slow down to around 50Mbps, but when this happens it doesn't last long and usually takes place in the evening when there is excessive traffic. Setup is extremely easy and T-Mobile customer service is fine. The price of $50 per month with auto-pay is less than what I was paying before. I recommend this service if you don't have other broadband options in your area.

Love It

Lawrence on March 19, 2024

I must be in a good area, just did a speed test and got 510Mbps. I finally got rid of the other provider 3 months ago and love the T-Mobile internet so far, should have switched sooner. Speed tests with our previous ISP never got me more than 100Mbps.

Perplexed; a mixed experience.

Don P on March 18, 2024

Initially, the connection was solid, but recently, it's been a rollercoaster ride of frustration. Over the past two weeks, the internet connection has failed multiple times a day, rendering it unreliable. Despite reaching out to customer service for assistance, the issue remains unresolved. They attribute the problem to their towers and claim to have alerted their engineers, but this hasn't translated into a fix. What's perplexing is that other T-Mobile users in our area report no issues, contradicting the company's explanation about tower problems. This discrepancy leaves us feeling let down by T-Mobile's inability to deliver consistent internet service. Overall, while T-Mobile initially showed promise, its failure to rectify ongoing connectivity issues has left me disappointed. Hopefully, they can address these shortcomings and provide a more reliable service in the future.

I Couldn't Ask For More

Krissy on January 16, 2024

I got T-Mobile's home internet plan as soon as it was made available in my area (Las Vegas) in 2022. Since then, I have not had a single issue. I stream shows, movies, YouTube, and games online all the time yet, I've never encountered any lag or buffering. I've run multiple speed tests and I average 230-430mbps download speeds and 70-92mbps upload speeds. Every other provider wants $100+ for that kind of service a month and I only pay $25! Don't sleep on T-Mobile.

I feel lucky type of connection

Sergey on December 25, 2023

I switched to T-Mobile 5G about a year ago (Boston). It was all good for a while, but lately, there are days when I don't have any speed. I suspect they got more clients but did not catch up with the infrastructure. I am experiencing another outage right now, hence, writing this review. The good news is that my former provider wants me back so they keep calling and sending me paper promotions. I'm frustrated right now and I may drop them as my cell provider as well.

Good customer service

Kate Ohene Sakyi on October 14, 2023

Almost a week ago, I had to reinstall the home internet service. I had the privilege of interacting with the tech, he was patient and guided me a novice, with such DIY, and it was an amazing experience. Many thanks, you are a star and need to be recognized for your professionalism and dedication to your clients.

Internet cuts on and off 24/7

Andrew on October 08, 2023

Terrible experience. The internet cuts out at least 8 times a day. I've moved the router everywhere in the house. Reset, restarted, unplugged. I have another ISP without issues.

Would love unlimited but was offered lite. Best of bad choices?

Gerald Cecil on October 04, 2023

Business rep said I should be able to get the ultimate based on address. However, the home rep could only offer Lite w/ 100 GB cap for $55/mo because I'm not giving a debit card or bank account access for a $5/mo discount. Shipped in 2 days and 20 minutes to install. One side of the house got 115/12 Mbps down/up, the other 135/25 to different towers during the day. Unfortunately, the latter window faces S sun and street, so I'll probably stick with the former. Ultimate is a bargain, and Lite is a rip-off at $55/mo for 100 GB or $105 for a 200 GB cap. Of course, the competition in this decrepit SW city is crappy DSL @ $55/mo uncapped but + a ridiculous $149 "installation" or $85/mo "up to" 150 Mbps basic fiber that includes rental of modem that you cannot provide for reduced rate and annual price increases after first yr. Monopolies. So far the 5G has been reliable over the last couple of days, but the data cap may kill it for me. No way I will pay $105/mo to get a 200 GB cap.

Experience with T-Mobile

Thomas Sherbert on September 28, 2023

First off I love the Service that T-Mobile Home Internet Provides. I don't really like the way that I have been a customer for over 2 years and I'm just now able to get an Online T-Mobile bill pay/App. I've paid a $10 service fee every time I've had to call the Customer Support Group. My services were suspended bc I did miss my payment due to a hard time. So when I went to make my payment it was now $233.68 and when I asked could they adjust the past amount bc they were at Fault for putting the wrong Email in their system. They told me no. That's the only reason I haven't been able to access the app is that they Misspelled my Email. I like the company and am satisfied with the Internet service. But not so satisfied with the way things went. I plan on continuing with T-Mobile Home Internet. But if I run into any more issues, I'll pay off and choose a different carrier.

Surprised at speed and reliability

Fred Ayers on August 18, 2023

Having dealt with cable internet and the horrible experience of price creep after the promotion had expired, I welcomed T-Mobile as a competitor. The archaic process cable uses to change or cancel by calling is over. My area does not have fiber, so before T-Mobile, it was Tether off the phone. After two months, speed exceeds or equals the competitor's offer, and as of today, has never gone down. The speed does adjust but generally is over 100 down and 75 up. By combining it with other T-Mobile offers, the monthly cost is $30!

I guess it really just depends on where you live

Jennifer on August 11, 2023

When we first got it less than a year ago it seemed fine. Everything was working without any issues. However, in the last 4 to 6 weeks it has been down more than it has been up. Says the servers are anywhere from 4 to 5 hours away from our location. However, when I spoke to customer service today, she said there’s a tower less than a quarter mile away from us. Our little tower in our home always says we have a good connection but we get download speeds of 2.0 and upload speeds of 0.09 most times. It’s becoming a major inconvenience and issue because I work from home two days a week and without having Internet obviously, I can’t work.

Exceeds my expectation so far

Gary Welch on August 08, 2023

I was skeptical of whether the T-Mobile 5G Home Internet would work in my home. While I've found excellent 5G service on my Pixel 7 in my area (near Rochester NY) on T-Mobile (as much as 1600 Mbps), the 5G at my home was usually slow, surprisingly especially the upload speed. The installation was straightforward, the best location was by an outside wall in the corner of a bedroom. The download speeds so far have typically been in the 470-500 Mbps range with some tests over 600 Mbps. Upload speeds are usually in the 55-60 Mbps range. My previous cable Internet speeds, from others, were about 360/12 Mbps. Others cost $80/mo. compared with $40 for T-Mobile, including a $10 discount because I also use them for mobile phone service. I connected the device to my existing Eero mesh router with an Ethernet cable, as I had planned. The WiFi in the T-Mobile device, surprisingly, would not accept a space in the WiFi password. I've used the password with dozens of other devices and never had that problem before. The WiFi in the device can be hidden but not turned off completely. There's no guest WiFi option. Some location-restricted services may not work with the T-Mobile device. I tried to livestream my local (Rochester NY) PBS station from the PBS website, but the site kept saying I was out of their service area, claiming that I was in Syracuse. I contacted PBS and they said that they rely on the IP for location. I talked to T-Mobile and the rep said that they use dynamic IPs because that's the way the mobile services work. He said that their mobile competitors would have the same issue. The tech support rep I talked to at T-Mobile was very helpful, even though he couldn't fix the problem. I downgraded the customer service rating because of the long wait. Also, the tech support number on the T-Mobile site was actually sales.

No Longer Happy With T-Mobile Internet Service

Lisa Griffin on July 28, 2023

I've been with T-Mobile 5G Home Internet for only 6 months, I'm no longer happy with the Internet service. It stays down more than it stays on, it's always pausing, and I can't enjoy my movies on my streaming device. Will definitely be going to another company!

I love my T-Mobile internet

Andrea on July 20, 2023

I've had T-Mobile internet for 8 months now. And I love it!! It's fast and we use multiple gadgets with no interruptions. Great value and quality. I'm so happy I got rid of that other company!! They kept nickel and diming me for years and now they won't stop trying to get me back. 30 bucks compared to 85 a month, I'll take it!!! I've been with T-Mobile for over 23 years and I'm very satisfied. And won't be leaving any time soon.

Great speeds and service when it works

Jacob on July 09, 2023

We have had T-mobile home internet for 7+ months and when it works I can at times get 100+ Mbps. However, for the last 2 months, speeds have been incredibly inconsistent. Even with a decent speed the ping and jitter are awful. With ping going at times as high as 700 ms or even worse, while jitter can go up to 200 ms. On average typical speeds would go from 20 to 50 Mbps but at times drop to not Even 1 Mbps. As a whole, if you can get good reception and consistent speeds I would recommend it. Though if you game online consistently I would recommend you go with another option or another provider with more consistent service and speeds

Great Price and Speed

P Miller on June 16, 2023

I will preface my review by stating I live in L.A. and I'm guessing speeds can vary by location. We are a 2 person household and use it for streaming movies via Chrome TV (and occasionally a laptop) and browsing the internet. We don't do any gaming. We have each been streaming movies at the same time on different TVs and have had zero issues. I switched several months ago to T-Mobile. T-Mobile was offering $50 a month for as long as I keep the service! :) The T-Mobile gateway (needed to connect) is supplied at no charge and the cost is included IN the $50 monthly fee. Speeds can and do vary (I check on occasion). The low speed has been around 40 Mbps. I just tested the speed again before this review and it was 236 Mbps on a weekday, late morning. I have been completely satisfied with the performance and price that T-Mobile has provided. It's a keeper.
