Palestine is the 1,173rd most connected city in Texas ahead of Oakwood and Tennessee Colony, but behind Grapeland, Frankston, and Elkhart.

The “Connected” metric is a citywide average based on FCC data showing the density of broadband options at the census block level.

Approximately 4,000 people in Anderson County don't have access to any wired internet.

This statistic is drawn from the population in census blocks not served by at least one wired broadband provider.

Approximately 50% of Palestine residents are serviced by multiple wired providers.

This coverage statistic is based on a mix of FCC and private provider reporting in the past two quarters.

In Anderson County, approximately 21,000 people do not have access to 25 Mbps wired broadband.

25 Mbps download and 3 Mbps upload is the minimum speed for an Internet connection to be classified as “Broadband” by the FCC.

Data Cap Issues in Palestine

Data collected by our researchers suggests that some of the common ISPs in Palestine use data caps for their residential broadband plans. Data caps are disliked since consumers see them as a tactic for limiting "cord cutting", while providers insist that they are a reasonable strategy as they struggle to manage heavy network traffic. In either case, the problem is streaming services, which easily consumes one to seven Gigabytes per hour.

Customer Reviews of Internet Providers in Palestine

Works about one tenth the time.

In complete honesty the service worked about 15% of the time. I continue to pay almost $100 per month for about a year after I finally contacted a different service. I continue to pay for this bad service because some Internet some of the time was better than no Internet none of the time. Palestine, Texas has very few options for Internet service which makes me sad. When you live in a small town, your connection to the rest of the world is through the Internet. When the companies that are offering Internet service do not follow through and deliver reliable service… It is extremely disappointing. From my experiences in Palestine, I have noticed that this company is particularly bad. The customer service agents regularly deny that there is a lack of service despite the fact that no one can connect on any device to the wireless router or even wired through ethernet. I am confused as to why Zito is not more concerned about their customer base. There are some people who do get good service. However, the vast majority of people that I have spoken to gets very little service. Again, it works about 15% of the time. This is not an exaggeration… The service is really that bad. I wish that they could get their act together… But I will likely move to a larger city where I can get reliable service as I need it for my job.
