Data collected by our research team suggests that some of the common providers use data caps on residential Internet connections. Data caps are a public issue because subscribers see caps as a strategy for limiting streaming, while providers insist that they are a reasonable strategy for managing network congestion. Either way, the culprit is streaming video, which can eat up anywhere from 1–7GB/hr.

Customer Reviews of Internet Providers in Barrington
Limited Hot Spot use
As a Verizon wireless customer, if I pay for unlimited data then I should be able to use it as I please. But after 15 GB, they slow it down. I use my hot spot to stream movies and TV. Comcast Xfinity keeps pilfering me with fees and their rates keep going up.
