Data Caps in Mount Airy
Data collected by our researchers shows that top providers place some sort of limit on data use for their home broadband connections. Data caps are a public issue since customers see them as a tactic to discourage "cord cutting". Providers insist that caps are a necessary tool for managing heavy network congestion. Either way, the culprit is the same: streaming video, which can use one to seven Gigabytes/hr.

Customer Reviews of Internet Providers in Mount Airy
Very limited technology
I have a 3800 sq ft home and the router that comes with the service, which you have to use, does not create a signal strong enough to get to the rear of my home. Adding a range extender is not supported so if you use one, they will claim that it's why your internet speed isn't what it is supposed to be. I removed the extender and barely got above 2-5Mbps even after rep tells me I am pulling 9Mbps from their end. I upgraded to the top tier plan for a test and still barely pushed past 6-7 Mbps when they claim 25 Mbps. The sad fact is for the money, it is the best you are going to get without a contract in my area.
