The “Connected” metric is a citywide average based on FCC data showing the density of broadband options at the census block level.

Approximately 6,000 people in Marion County don't have access to any wired internet.

This statistic is drawn from the population in census blocks not served by at least one wired broadband provider.

Fiber coverage data is sourced from FCC Form 477 filings and cross-validated through BroadbandNow with private datasets and direct provider reporting.

Data Caps in Salem

Internet companies have been moving to add data "plans" to their residential Internet packages recently. The market trend is certainly true for Salem, with providers like Xfinity selling capped plans. This might not matter for the majority of customers, but can affect users who stream a large amount of HD or 4K content. Data caps for cable bundles are usually in the neighborhood of one Terabyte, which is an issue for less than 1% of Internet users, according to reports from Comcast. Potential Xfinity customers in Salem should double check data limits before signing a contract, and not assume them based on statements online.

Customer Reviews of Internet Providers in Salem

Excellent service for a high speed connection

Wave has been excellent service at a fantastic price for a high-speed connection. We have had maybe 3 loss of service in 14 months that lasted for maybe an hour.

Just Ok.

Comcast's Internet service meets my expectations, but their X1 services leave me feeling discontent about their services overall.

Contrary opinion: Comcast is good

It may be a regional thing, but around here Comcast is good. I have always had courteous and helpful contacts with customer service, good experiences with appointments and installs. I am a Triple Play customer and I feel it is price competitive to other customers. Rarely (almost never) goes down.
