Bluemont is the 129th most connected city in Virginia ahead of Middleburg, Round Hill, Hamilton, and Berryville, but behind Purcellville.

The “Connected” metric is a citywide average based on FCC data showing the density of broadband options at the census block level.

Approximately 2,000 people in Clarke County don't have access to any wired internet.

This statistic is drawn from the population in census blocks not served by at least one wired broadband provider.

Approximately 26% of Bluemont residents are serviced by multiple wired providers.

This coverage statistic is based on a mix of FCC and private provider reporting in the past two quarters.

In Clarke County, approximately 5,000 people do not have access to 25 Mbps wired broadband.

25 Mbps download and 3 Mbps upload is the minimum speed for an Internet connection to be classified as “Broadband” by the FCC.

Data Caps and Cord Cutting in Bluemont

Data from our research team suggests that top ISPs in Bluemont currently place a limit on streaming for their home Internet connections. Data caps are controversial since users view them as a tactic for limiting streaming. Providers insist that caps are a reasonable strategy as they struggle to manage heavy network congestion. Either way, the culprit is the same: over-the-top streaming services, which can eat up one to seven Gigabytes per hour.

Customer Reviews of Internet Providers in Bluemont

Pretty good for Satellite internet

I can't complain too much. The customer service for most part has helped me out and because I don't have many options because of location, they are the best at what they do. The only thing I would change is data allowance because I have young ones now who love to use the web and use sites like YouTube and that burns through data. So if they released plans for higher data like I have been hearing, then I would give them 5 stars.
