They're good, but they could be better.
Jeff on October 25, 2020
Compared to literally their only other competition (Windstream), they're amazing. I get the speeds I pay for and the only time I had connection issues, I had a tech out as soon as it was allowed by law due to the Corona Virus epidemic. Customer service is clear, concise, and honest. However... those caps leave a lot to be desired. I'm glad it's up to 2 terabytes now, but caps as a concept are just awful. In addition to that, they're expensive, and they can get away with it because of the ineptitude of their competition in the area. In short, they're good to great from a technical level and a customer service level, but they're extremely pricey and cap you.
Guess this is progress
Kal on January 10, 2020
Supposed to be 100 mbps but it won't play a simple Youtube video without lag and buffering. Glad my contract is up in another month.
I am not happy
Bruce Hall on February 24, 2018
Slow, buffers, cuts out, very unreliable... looking for replacement.
Only game in town. That's bad.
Thomas Bowen on December 03, 2017
Customer service people are nice and knowledgeable. No problem there. My issue is that it's too expensive and there are data caps. I'm trying to save money by cutting the cord, yet now that I'm streaming shows, I'm going over my data cap and it's costing me almost as much as having cable TV. They have no tier less than 100 Mbps unless I drop to around 3 to 6 Mbps which is too slow for streaming. I also have no alternative for internet. Armstrong is the only option in Boardman.
Data caps are the death of the internet
Anthony on November 15, 2017
Armstrong offers great speeds in my area, however, their belief that data caps should exist is wrong. Educate yourself on how the internet actually works and you will see that it has everything to do with bandwidth and nothing to do with how much actual data flows down the wire!
Best Internet service HANDS DOWN
Kelly Hearn on October 20, 2017
Perfect reception, great service! Highly recommend. We are moving from Sevill to Lodi and are very upset we can't have Armstrong here.
Great Service
Trey on June 25, 2017
Phenomenal customer service, fast internet, lots of cable options and plans.
Great company
Victor on February 17, 2017
This is a fantastic company. They recently installed a brand new fiber optic line in front of my house and ran fiber all the way to my modem. The reliability is amazing. The lowest speed they sell is 50 Mbps! Plus they actually deliver 55 Mbps to my house, unlike other companies who always deliver less than they advertise. Installation was free and the technicians were very professional. Armstrong is a blessing. Plus their tech support is in Pennsylvania.
Data cap
Joanna Gilliam on February 13, 2017
It's good, fast, reliable internet. If you stream movies or TV you will blow through your data and be charged extra.
Terrible internet service
Jesse Gagnon on August 03, 2016
The internet service is very unreliable. Speed drops to a crawl periodically. My family hit their crazy data cap for the month in 10 days. TV is way too expensive so we just went with internet to stream shows... super disappointed. Would love to have another provider as an option.
Horrible service
Cindi on June 26, 2016
Constant issues with this service. I am paying more and more for my internet usage since they capped it, all of a sudden I was using crazy amounts and continues to increase. I have contacted them for some type of solution with no resolution. The service is just awful, slow, doesn't maintain connection. I do not know anyone who like their internet service. I would give zero stars if I could!
Good speed, bad caps!
on September 08, 2015
They cap your home Internet data at 200 GB/mo. And have done this since 2013. If you go over the cap, they tack on $10 for an additional 50 GB. That's okay if you have cable, but not if you only use streaming services like Hulu or Netflix. I almost always go over between online gaming, smartphone use, Netflix and Hulu This is the only reason I don't like it.
