Livestreaming just fine on Fixed Wireless
First off, I am a new Etheric Networks employee as of September 2019. I became a customer in November not because I work there, but because I moved to La Honda, California where Etheric is one of the only options. There's no cable or fiber up here. I'm on a private ranch at 1100ft. My options were satellite or fixed wireless and as a livestreamer, I was worried about using anything but a wired connection. I need a reliable connection to stream and wireless has always been iffy in the past...not anymore. I am impressed. Not just with Fixed Wireless, but also with Etheric. They built their own fiber backbone around the SF Bay. That backbone provides rock solid redundancy AND backhaul for streamers like me. Speeds are symmetrical so you should get the same speed up and down, also critical for streaming and gaming. The wireless base stations all have 48-hour backup power in case of an outage, with a field crew that will drive fuel between towers if need be to keep them running while we wait for PG&E. Long term plans are for all towers to be solar / battery independent. That's a big plus for anyone who can't afford to lose connectivity for any period of time. The radio dish on my house is powered through the ethernet cable which means I should be able to power the dish with just my computer (and the right cable). In a power outage, that could be a lifesaver. *I knocked 1 star off the speed category not because my connection is slow (I get more speed than I pay for), but because currently, my upload speed is faster than my download. I'm not complaining, but it's not equal so -1 point. It's all I could find to complain about.
Personalized customer service and good speeds!
Signed up recently and their service speeds are great for my area. I don't have many options, so having wireless Internet saved the day. Their techs were top notch and installation was seamless. They don't offer TV or phone, but the Internet is all I needed anyway.
About Our Etheric Networks Speed Test Tool
Whether Etheric Networks is your internet provider or you use a different provider, the speed test below can show key statistics about your internet connection.

Download and upload speeds are the most important indicators of broadband internet robustness. As of January 2022, Etheric’s average download rate is 30.05 Mbps. Throughout their coverage area, the average latency on Etheric Internet speed tests is -1ms. For context, wired terrestrial Internet connections generally perform in the 5–70ms range. Satellite Internet connections, on the other hand, are often in the range of 500–800ms.
Note: This speed test can be used to test any internet provider, not just Etheric Networks .
If your Etheric Networks speed test result is lower than expected, try resetting your router or call Etheric Networks customer service for additional assistance.
