Long Beach is a large city, but it has only a few wired internet providers: Spectrum, EarthLink, and Frontier. The providers offer various services in different parts of the city.

Spectrum covers 86.3% of Long Beach, granting residents access to its cable internet plans. It’s available in most parts of the city, except for patches of a few neighborhoods along West 7th Street and East 3rd Street. Rainbow Harbor, which is next to the Aquarium of the Pacific, falls within Spectrum’s coverage zone, but coverage is scarce across the street at Pike Outlets. It has the strongest concentration of coverage east of Alamitos Avenue.

Another provider with a strong presence in Long Beach is EarthLink, which has coverage that competes with Frontier, the other fiber internet provider in the city. It’s available in of the city, while Frontier is available in 50.4%. Frontier is absent southwest of Long Beach near the Los Angeles River, but it covers a majority of the downtown area along West Ocean Boulevard.

Whether you’re looking for cable or fiber internet, any of these providers are accessible in the city as long as you live in their coverage zones. Spectrum overlaps with Frontier to a degree, since they share coverage east of Alamitos Avenue and north of East Ocean Boulevard. Frontier, however, doesn’t hold any territory in the areas near the Los Angeles River, unlike Spectrum.
