As big as LA is, the best options for internet come down to two providers: Spectrum and AT&T. At least 90 percent of Los Angelenos have access to AT&T, while 100 percent of the city has access to Spectrum Internet®.

Fastest Internet Providers in Los Angeles

AT&T offers two internet services in LA: AT&T Fiber, which is the fastest option in the city with download and upload speeds up to 1,000 Mbps, and AT&T Internet, a DSL service that offers download speed up to 100 Mbps and upload speed up to 10 Mbps. AT&T Fiber is available to 34 percent of LA. Enter your ZIP code above to find out if AT&T Fiber is available in your area.

Spectrum offers the fastest cable internet service, with maximum download speeds ranging from 200 to 1,000 Mbps and upload speeds ranging from 10 to 35 Mbps.

If you’re looking for an alternative to AT&T, consider EarthLink internet. EarthLink also offers DSL internet with download speeds up to 100 Mbps and fiber internet that reaches gigabit speed (1,000 Mbps). Starry Internet is also available to more than half of LA and offers fixed wireless internet with up to 200 Mbps in download speed.

Cheapest Internet in Los Angeles

Spectrum offers the cheapest plans in Los Angeles, with prices starting at $49.99 a month for up to 200 Mbps. If you’re looking for the best deal on faster plans (400 Mbps and higher), prices range from $65 to $100 for Spectrum, AT&T, and EarthLink. AT&T normally has monthly promotions, offering reward cards or free services. Click the “View Plans and Pricing” button above to see which deals are available this month.

Comparing AT&T and Spectrum

AT&T Fiber is going to be the fastest and lowest-priced option if you live in Angelino Heights, Silver Lake, or parts of East LA. AT&T Fiber’s basic plan offers up to 300 Mbps for just $55 a month. If you live outside of these neighborhoods, Spectrum will have the fastest internet plans and lowest prices. Spectrum’s basic plan offers up to 200 Mbps for $49.99 a month.

Both providers offer bundle packages, with prices ranging from about $120 to 150 for AT&T and $90 to $153 for Spectrum. With AT&T, you can choose either DirecTV, one of the most popular satellite TV services, or AT&T TV, a live streaming TV service.

Internet Statistics for Los Angeles, California

Nicknamed as “The Entertainment and Creative Capital of the World,” Los Angeles boasts dreams, culture, and luxury while ranking 20th as the most internet-connected city in California.
