Internet Access in Larkspur, Colorado

The two most frequently available network technologies within Larkspur are DSL and Fiber networks as well as Cable. DSL and Fiber has a 87.66 percent footprint, compared to the 42.97 percent Cable availability.

CenturyLink is also a commonly available Internet choice for Larkspur. They offer DSL and Fiber connections available to 87 percent of the area. Kellin Communications is another alternative wireless service to practically one hundred percent of the local area. Larkspur is currently the 35th most connected city in Colorado. Underserved blocks are comparatively low, and only 2,000 are limited to a single choice for broadband access. This statistic is drawn from the population in census blocks not served by at least one wired broadband provider.

Fiber coverage data is sourced from FCC Form 477 filings and cross-validated through BroadbandNow with private datasets and direct provider reporting.

Approximately 58% of Larkspur residents are serviced by multiple wired providers.

This coverage statistic is based on a mix of FCC and private provider reporting in the past two quarters.

In Douglas County, approximately 9,000 people do not have access to 25 Mbps wired broadband.

25 Mbps download and 3 Mbps upload is the minimum speed for an Internet connection to be classified as “Broadband” by the FCC.

Data Caps on Larkspur Internet Plans

Many Internet companies have begun to impose data limits to their consumer Internet packages lately. The trend is certainly true for the Larkspur market, with common ISPs like Xfinity featuring capped plans. This might not matter for the majority of Internet subscribers, but is liable to affect households that download or upload a large amount of high-def video. Caps for cable packages tend to be about 1 Terabyte. This is an issue for less than one percent of customers, according to reports from Comcast. Potential Xfinity customers should verify data use policies when signing up.

Customer Reviews of Internet Providers in Larkspur

Reliable internet

Have had Kellin Communications for several years at my house, maybe down a few hours but they have fixed the issue pretty quick. Had to pay for a service call but they do not charge for any equipment like other providers. Speed seems fine, I recently upgrade to their faster package 25 Mbps, I was told they are also offering a 50 Mbps package soon.

Fine But Not Great

Kellin is a line-of-site wireless ISP. While they are much more reliable than DSL was at the time we switched, their speeds are rarely what they promise. I suspect that they’ve over saturated their tower with too many users. My wife works remotely 100% and I do about 20% of the time, and it doesn’t play particularly well with VPN either. Customer service isn’t terribly bad, but if you complain about speeds, they’ll definitely blame it on you, your equipment, your setup, someone else in your house streaming stuff you don’t know about. Be prepared to spend time proving that it’s not any of those things. It’s not all bad. They’re decent folks and their service is decent as well. If you live in an area of Monument where you can’t get cable internet or you’re far enough from the switch that the phone company’s DSL is unacceptable, Kellin is a good alternative.
